Hi, have you tried this procedure?:

1. Goto the Options Menu, and select "Default Options". Go to the Miscellaneous tab and check the box that says "Enable Game Cheats".

2. Unzip the cheat.dat and place the cheat.dat file in the same directory as MAME32.exe (not just drop it onto your desktop).

Eg These should exist if your mame dir is c:\mame\ :-
c:\mame\mame32.exe
c:\mame\cheat.dat

3. Press TAB ingame....you should have a cheat menu.

Get it straight ios don’t work like windows so try the normal windows way

Have you tried this- Next start MAME, or the MAME64 application, near the bottom center you go to options, then Miscellaneous options, then turn Cheats to ON(Off is the default setting).....Remember to Save Configuration!

Then your good to go. When you hit Tab in MAME the Cheat(s) option will be there.

In Windows everything has to be bridged together by the filesystem hierarchy. That means a cheats folder in your name directory. Place the dat file in the cheats folder.
