EnglishWhat are the options for XRP now that is getting sued by the SEC?

If it deemed to be a security, is it likely that it will be delisted by US based crypto exchanges like Coinbase and others? Currently it is getting a lot of sell pressure and seems like it was a primary funding method for Ripple...

The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in the United States has decided to file a lawsuit against Ripple after years of legal fighting. Explaining that cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin and Ethereum are not securities, the SEC decided that XRP, unlike them, is securities. On that basis, the regulator accused ripple of irregularities. xrp has been delisted in many places, but xrp, one of the 3 largest coins in this market, I think the SEC can't completely erase a coin invested by thousands of people from the market. because the world's biggest banks are working with xrp. Elon Musk said he'd buy a coin, maybe it could be xrp. :)

Musk is probably trolling... If it gets delisted for US customers it will definitely be a blow...

For ripple, I think these are a chance to drop prices and collect from below. In Japan, they were sued and won this way. ripple saw $ 3 as its peak and I think it will come back to those levels.

Ripple has pushed back aggressively for years on the notion that XRP is a security. The company notes it does not have discretion to tap the reserve funds as it wishes, and that XRP has become increasingly decentralized as banks and other merchants use it as a bridge currency in cross-border transactions. According to Garlinghouse, the SEC regarding XRP as a security controlled by Ripple is akin to viewing oil as a security controlled by Exxon.

Hmm, so you are saying the fight is on in courts meanwhile the delists are happening...

Even if it is considered a security, only America will be affected. After all, you can also evaluate XRP on other platforms, such as Binance. There are as many buyers as there are sales pressures. It needs some time, and then it'll rise.

The SEC is set to bring a lawsuit against Ripple claiming the company violated laws against selling unregistered securities when it sold XRP to investors.
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse said the SEC’s suit was “fundamentally wrong as a matter of law and fact” and questioned its timing.
XRP declined sharply following news of the expected SEC suit, with the cryptocurrency falling over 17% to around 46 cents.

Depends on the court ruling and then that will apply only to the USA.

The SEC has permitted XRP to function as a currency for over eight years, and we question the motivation for bringing this action just days before the change in administration.

Ripple said it would be sued by the SEC. Ripple, one of the most important companies in the cryptocurrency industry, said Monday evening that the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is ready to file a bomb-like lawsuit against the company, alleging the sale of unlicensed securities.

Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse and co-founder Chris Larsen will also be cited as defendants in the case. SEC spokesman Judith Burns denied a request to comment on the case or confirm that there will be a lawsuit. Cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) are not securities, according to the SEC. However, XRP is a security. For this reason, Ripple has been accused of irregularity.

Ripple's decision to declare that a lawsuit is about to be filed is unusual. Garlinghouse predicted that the incoming Biden administration could be more friendly to the cryptocurrency industry than the Trump administration, and suggested that Ripple's preemptive announcement could be a political component. Garlinghouse also blew up the SEC's decision to file a lawsuit just before the holiday and said Ripple would fight the case. Garlinghouse said:

"Shocking. This is an attack on the entire cryptocurrency industry and American innovation. ”

I think that this is only a move to shake off weak hands.

So far, XRP's team moves have helped to both increase popularity and fish out weak hands.
First was the Flare airdrop, and the FUD after, now this.

Either that, or somebody somewhere is just playing with the minds of the general public.
Ripple has come to stay.

I think we'll have to wait until SEC suit gets resolved. Untill that happenes price will vary but with xrp being delisted from so many exchanges we could possibly see a very low price of xrp in the range of 0.10 - 0.20.
Great for making some money with all the dips tho.

While it’s unfortunate the SEC is targeting Ripple, and it’s sure to impact the price in the near term, I feel confident this lawsuit won’t hurt XRP in the long run.

Here’s the reason:

First, Ripple has the money to hire the best attorneys on the planet and go toe-to-toe with the SEC. It even hired former SEC chairwoman Mary Jo White as its representative back in 2018 in a separate case.

And I don’t think the SEC’s case holds water. XRP is now more of a utility token than ever because it’s used on Ripple’s on-demand liquidity (ODL) network. And if XRP is used as a utility token for network usage, it’s harder to classify it as a security, right?

And I’m still enthused about Ripple’s potential. Over 350 financial institutions use its payment network, RippleNet, to receive payouts in more than 40 currencies across 55-plus countries. These RippleNet members can settle transactions in three to five seconds, compared to the days it could take traditional services and a high % transaction fee.

Yes, short term volatility is expected with XRP. It is also having a ripple effect (sorry) on other altcoins. But long term XRP is a buy. Consider buying on dips and stay the course!.
