EnglishWhat kind of website would you stay on for a long time?

Hi everyone I work for a company that does aggregation services for web technologies on the net. There are currently about 1500 employees in 21 countries. They always run contests. This month their contest question is what kind of web utility or entertainment website should be made where people would spent more than an hour at a time. So I am coming to you to help me out. I will award the idea I choose to use to enter on September 28th.

A website wich can put people to chat with each other. Only with who they choose. Example, choose male to chat, chat with him. Choose female to chat, chat with her. People choose between video and text. They can fill categories where they want the person they will chat to fill. Example : Gaming - Health - Style - Media - Tecnology - Environment - Reading. Companie can choose themes but make it restrict so it will be more usefull. It can still have questions on the website like quizz and questionaire for research and marketing.

A website that hosts real world news, videos as well as interactivity for the user. Maybe social media platform that brings people together in order to discuss certain topics, with less of the forum type feel but more a quick fire discussion of happenings in the world such as celebrity news and also shock NSFW videos.

The popularity of social networks increase year by year, this is especially true for Facebook, the preference worldwide. There is no extra that these platforms are constantly innovating, new features and functionalities.

Its intention is to catch the greatest amount of time and attention of its users, as well as to stimulate the interaction. From this account on the stories of Instagram, Facebook Live, Snapchat Spectacles, et cetera. a marketing agency MediaKix drew up a projection, estimating the amount of time people spend a lifetime to those on the most popular social media platforms.

THE ESTIMATION OF MEDIAKIX

Average periodic use of social networks:

Youtube: 40 minutes

Facebook: 35 minutes

Snapchat: 25 minutes

Instagram: 15 minutes

Twitter: 1 minute

Time used in social networks throughout life:

Youtube: 1 year and 10 months

Facebook: 1 year and 7 months

Snapchat. 1 year and 2 months

Instagram: 8 months

Twitter: 18 days

This would take 5 years and 4 months in total. This is equivalent to flying to the moon and back 32 times; walking the Great Wall of China three and a half times; climb Mount Everest 32 times; running 10 000 marathons; walk your dog 32 000 times. In the relationship with children they use social networks, 44% of adolescent girls say they enjoy it "a lot", compared to 29% of children. Girls, on average, spend more than 40 minutes more on social networks than boys; girls do not spend more or less an hour and the media on social networks up to date and children, just under an hour.

A website that allows people to earn money. What comes to my mind now is some kind of money exchange where there will be data and graphs and info about the various trading items. People will have to buy and sell things to try and make more and more money. Buy/Sell orders will have very limited duration so that one has to be online as much as possible to be able to trade.

I will on an entertainment website with high interactivity features, less ads, well programmed to be easy on data(light pages).

Sites the present interesting content to the user are the ones that people spend most time on. Facebook, Youtube and Facebook, present the right content to every users, depending on users rating. So if you want to build an interinting website, do one that keeps track of every user's profile, to show the right content to the user.

As your question is "what kind of web utility or entertainment website should be made where people would spent more than an hour at a time" my best suggestion is go to the Google trend and choose the category you are well interested in, I take entertainment in your case. There are numerous topics going around everyday, you can choose the best one you are confident on and can handle that category in long run. Create a magazine style blog and post your articles, videos, real-time scenarios daily and then weekly. This strategy will definitely engage your visitors and keep coming to your website every day.

Hope this helps

The very best kind of utility would be one where ALL of the biggest social media messengers could cross talk to others. Including sending photos as well as text messages. Some have tried this in the past but usually abandoned it as they were shareware.

Offer a site that gives 90 concurrent minutes of free access to the surfer to any legitimate paid sight on the web. I know this isnt the best answer but thats a wide scope of likes and dislikes. the only good answer will be a site that offers any and everything in the world on tap.

Everyone likes to feel they have been seen or heard. We love to feel as though a secret has been shared with us. The ah ha moment. Most people, on line have a short attention spand partially due to our over stimulation. so many ads so many regurgitated ideas, statements, promises.

whatever is being delivered it needs intelligent relatable humor. for example the Simpsons or family guy.

think about their success.

Absolutely nothing that has auto-play embedded media. I want a clean experience that won't bloat up my memory. I like sites with descriptions below links and actual pages of results, not infinite scrolls or endless pictures causing my browser to crash or run slower and force me to start over. It especially helps if you have some way to bookmark pages within the site so you can return to them faster from a profile.

Something interactive that keeps people talking whilst watching a tv programme. A surrogate friend in a way. The average soap is 30 mins and is full of gossip and plots that people like to get involved in. It would work like gaming where you have so many players that are talking to each other live whilst playing. It would be so versatile as it could literally cover any programme.
BaconGamer88 6 years ago
There are 2 aspects to this:

- Content: With website content, you need a trade-off between quality and quantity of content. For example, youtube has loads of high-quality videos.

- Security: It's always reassuring when you see https instead of http. Also, things like non-shady design and DDOS protection also help with this.
