EnglishWho are biggest donors to bjp, sangh and other affiliated organisations from the United Kingdom?

I want to know which people and organizations based in the UK are the biggest donors to them. To clarify, I would like to know who from the UK is funding India's BJP, RSS and other affiliated organisations as they receive significant donors from there

NEW DELHI: For the last 13 years, the India Development and Relief Fund (IDRF), a US-based charity has reportedly misused American corporate philanthropy to fund RSS-affiliated organisations here. For instance, the IDRF obtained vast sums from CISCO, a leading technology company in the US with a substantial number of NRIs on its rolls by saying its activities are "secular" since company rules explicitly prohibit donations to organisations of a "religious" nature.

Some of the richest electoral trusts have been donating generously to the BJP, including the Congress party. Most of the BJP funding is correlated to Congress and other political parties.

The Sangh Parivar (translation: "Family of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh" or the "RSS family"[1][2][3]) refers, as an umbrella term, to the collection of Hindu nationalist organisations spawned by[clarification needed] the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and remain affiliated to it. These include the political party Bharatiya Janata Party, religious organisation Vishva Hindu Parishad, students union Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), religious militant organisation Bajrang Dal[11] that forms the youth wing of the Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP), and the worker's union Bharatiya Kishan Sangh. It is also often taken to include allied organisations such as the Shiv Sena, which share the ideology of the RSS. The Sangh Parivar represents the Hindu nationalist movement of India.[12]

SECRETARY-GENERAL WELCOMES EFFORTS BEING MADE BY GROUP OF SEVEN DONOR COUNTRIES TO ALLEVIATE DEBT BURDEN OF POOREST COUNTRIES
19990422 The following statement was issued today by the Office of the Spokesman for Secretary-General Kofi Annan:
The Secretary-General welcomes the efforts being made by the members of the Group of Seven donor countries to alleviate the debt burden of the poorest countries by converting to grants or cancelling a large part of their official bilateral debt. The announcement that Japan plans to cancel $7.82 billion of the debt of the poorest countries is in line with similar proposals made by the other Group of Seven countries.

The Secretary-General is gratified by these expressions of international cooperation, and he hopes that the donor countries will support additional measures to enable the multilateral financial institutions to alleviate the burden of the multilateral debt of the poorest countries and provide additional resources to reverse the declining official development assistance (ODA) trend.

The VHP finances the Bajrang Dal, which remains an unregistered body, from the money it receives as donations for charitable work.

·Evidence before the tribunal suggests that the VHP itself has floated several organisations through which it collects funds that are in addition to the contributions it receives from other sources.

·The most active have been VHP (USA) and VHP (U.K.), both of which are also connected with other "charitable" societies in these countries.[29]

The U.K. Charities Commission is reportedly under pressure from London-based South Asian organizations to withdraw the charity status of the U.K. unit of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad and the Hindu Swayamsevak Sangh, which have been accused of diverting charitable donations to fund sectarian violence in India.[30] Meanwhile, the U.S. State Department has asked the Justice Department to look into reports suggesting that the India Development Relief Fund is siphoning off funds received from major U.S. companies and individuals to RSS-run institutions with the express purpose of furthering the "Hindutva" agenda.

a report titled The Foreign Exchange of Hate: IDRF and the American Funding of Hindutva, put together by a group called The Campaign To Stop Funding Hate, documented how the India Development and Relief Fund, a charity based in the US state of Maryland, was funnelling funds to Sangh institutions in India. It claimed that the IDRF had sent more than $3 million to Sangh institutions in the seven years before the report was published.

Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, abbreviated as RSS (IAST: Rāṣṭrīya Svayamsevaka Saṅgha, IPA: [raːʂˈʈriːj(ə) swəjəmˈseːʋək səŋɡʱ], lit. "National Volunteer Organisation"[14]), is an Indian right-wing,[1] Hindu nationalist,[6][15] paramilitary[5] volunteer[2] organisation. The RSS is the progenitor and leader of a large body of organisations called the Sangh Parivar (the "family of the RSS"), which have presence in all facets of the Indian society. RSS was founded on 27 September 1925. As of 2014, it has a membership of 5–6 million.[16][10]
The initial impetus was to provide character training through Hindu discipline and to unite the Hindu community to form a Hindu Rashtra (Hindu nation).[17][18] The organisation promotes the ideals of upholding Indian culture and the values of a civil society and spreads the ideology of Hindutva, to "strengthen" the Hindu community.[19][9] It drew initial inspiration from European right-wing groups during World War II.[18][20][21][22] Gradually, RSS grew into a prominent Hindu nationalist umbrella organisation, spawning several affiliated organisations that established numerous schools, charities, and clubs to spread its ideological beliefs.[18]

The RSS was banned once during British rule,[18] and then thrice by the post-independence Indian government, first in 1948 when Nathuram Godse,[23] who claimed to have left RSS in 1946 over ideological differences,[24] assassinated Mahatma Gandhi;[18][25][26] then during The Emergency (1975–1977); and for a third time after the demolition of Babri Masjid in 1992.

The RSS has historically played a major role in the Hindu nationalist movement. On several occasions it has been banned by the Indian government, for its alleged role in communal violence.[27]
